Today’s fun-filled activity is pretty basic. We’re going to make a mix and match soda pop can cozy. Why would we want such a thing, since a cozy made of paper won’t help keep my can cold, you ask? Because you can mix and match the characters on the cozy, I retort. You can build a mix-and-matcher around any cylendrical object. I just chose a pop can because those come in a standard size and most people are likely to have one in their house.

The Finished Project Here’s what to do:

  1. Download and print out the linked file canring.pdf
  2. Color the pictures (or not, if you like black and white)
  3. Cut along the dotted lines
  4. Use clear tape to tape each paper strip in a ring around a soda can.

That’s it. It’s simplicity itself.

Your kids can put the head of one character on another’s body and swap feet around by rotating the rings around the can.

Also on the canring.pdf document is a template for making a princess mix-and-match for if you’ve got a kid who doesn’t like monsters. Me, I do. Which is why I used them for the example photos.
