When your kids hear about all the great adventures Bob the Builder is having building Bobland Bay Zoo, they might want to check one out in person. If you live in Ohio you are in luck! The surrounding cities all have great zoos. One in particular, the Columbus Zoo, has become well known for its family friendly atmosphere and animals. Bob the Builder might inspire you to take your children out and explore new sights to them.

The Columbus Zoo has been around for decades located just north of the city. It offers your family the ability to experience the sights and sounds of 6,000 animals and 700 different species. The zoo is broken into regions of the world for you to explore.

In the North America region you can see animals such as Brown and Black bears, moose, and a Bald Eagle. If you go right now there are cute baby North American River Otters. You can educate your kids while they see the animals up close. They will definitely want to experience a life size Asian Elephant and Black Rhinoceroses. They will know that building a place for these animals to live is a big job for Bob the Builder.

There are definitely areas that you want to be sure to take your children. One exhibit being the Shores location where the manatees live.
Give them the opportunity to see an animal that they might have never seen in person before. The Columbus Zoo is even home to the first captive born gorilla, Colo. She was born there in 1956, and still lives there today with her extended family. You want to be sure to check out Colo, and her many children, grand children, and great grand children. After that you can travel to the other continents that the zoo has represented by animals. They could go down under and visit the kangaroos and wallabies. Or go to the home of the penguins and see them play together in their ice kingdom.

This list of animals goes on and on. So if you decide to take that adventure to the zoo you want to make sure that you make a day out of it. There is so much for you to experience that you want to have plenty of time to see it all.
